I'm dwellin'...
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91:1 KJV The Purpose of this Women's Ministry...This is an unorthodox deliverance ministry intended for women who can receive raw truth and tough love through the word of God. Again, this is not a traditional church women's ministry. My God-ordained assignment in the Body of Christ is to minister an effective word that will deliver women from sexual promiscuity and self-defeating behavior patterns. I don't sugarcoat or water down truth. My goal is not that you like me or agree with me. My sole purpose in ministry is to see people set free from sin by the power of the Holy Ghost. Having said that, if you find the contents of this website offensive or if it does not minister to your spiritual needs, I ask that you do not email your complaints but simply visit elsewhere. Thank you for your consideration concerning this matter. "I thought, this has got to be of the devil..."
There are books that you can't judge by the cover...and then there are those that you can't judge by the title. Bitch Mentality by La Veeta Ivory is one of them. I'll admit when I visited her website and saw the word "Ministries" behind her name and then saw the title of her book. I thought, this has got to be of the devil. What Christian woman would write something with this kind of title? Then I saw a woman at the laundromat who was reading this book. Tears were running down her face. At first, I thought maybe she had a cold or that lint from the dryer had gotten into her eyes. But then I could tell it was something that she was reading that was pulling this kind of emotion out her. I started asking her some questions and she told me, "Here take the book--read it for yourself." Other people started turning around looking at me, so out of embarrassment over the title I said "No, I was just curious that's all." But once I got home, and started putting my clothes away, I couldn't get over how much that woman looked like the book was really really ministering to her in a way that I never thought a book with that kind of title could. So, I said I'm going to buy this book but I'm not going to tell anybody--especially not the sisters at my church. I was just too scared of what others might think or say. But just like that woman, tears started running down my face too. Jesus! I couldn't believe that I had been wrong and judged the book and the woman (La Veeta Ivory) by just the title of her book. I don't care who knows that I have read the book now. And I don't care who knows that I've listen to the DVD I'll be Damned either. The DVD is about II Thessalonians 2:12 "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." But, again, I judged something because of the title at first. I've learned a whole lot this year; a lot about myself and a lot about true Christian character. Thanks La Veeta for sharing your Radical Word ministry with those of us who can be judgmental and self-righteous, not realizing that we are the ones in the wrong and need more help and deliverance than we are willing to openly admit. Thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping it real and sharing the gospel message in an extraordinary way. Cassandra PhillipsMemphis, TN "I now have the information I need..."
Okay, so I thought when I saw the title that it was going to be long, boring, and the typical message "Woman keep your legs closed, if it's not your husband." And although that's true, I still wasn't intrigued about reading the book. I asked some of my friends if they had heard of the book Bitch Mentality they all said no. Later on that evening, my nosey auntie, who swears that she knows everything about everybody (lol sorry about that Auntie E.) walked in my mama's house with the book. She had tears in her eyes--and she don't cry about nothing! So we knew it had to be serious. She put the book on the table and said, "Ya'll got to..." and left it at that. So, we all sat down that night and they picked me to read it out loud. We didn't get to bed until about 3:00 in the morning, but it was worth it. Although I still got some changing to do, I now have the information I need to make those changes in my life. La Veeta, I heard about your first novel coming out in 2009, can't wait to read that too. You definitely got skills! Go 'head girl--we need more women like you in church. Rasheeda EvansFlint, MI "It was like really cool how you did it..."
I'm not a Christian yet. But I'm thinking about becoming one now that I've read the book Bitch Mentality. I've never heard anybody teach Bible stuff in a way that I found helpful and interesting, until I read your book. It was like really cool how you did it. The message was enlightening without being too preachy--but still very powerful. I'm going to order the 2 DVDs today. Thank you for teaching the way you do. Amy OliverHollywood, FL
